What a beautiful city with the Cataract Gorge & park, a scenic River Tamar with a compact boat marina, a colourful city park and some historic building sights.
We also enjoyed an afternoon cruise on the Tamar River with Rob & Neice providing us with wine tasting, afternoon tea aboard the boat with great scenic views.

Swansea Sights & onto Launceston
After enjoying our time in Bicheno we travelled with Rob & Neice to Launceston via a stay at the seaside town of Swansea. On the way we also stopped at Devil's Corner Winery which had a beautiful view. Our caravan site in Swansea was on the beachfront and the view over Coles Bay was magnificent especially the morning sunrise.
Travelled onto Launceston with Rob & Neice where we spent a few days with them including an afternoon cruise down the beautiful Tamar River. The afternoon on the river cruise included afternnon tea, fruit as well as wine tasting and although the wind was quite strong...

Grampians StopOver & Melbourne Cup Family Lunch at Bicheno
Our Tasmanian Caravan holiday commenced on 25th October 2016 and together with our dogs Alfie & Millie we spent 5 nights in the Grampians staying in Halls Gap. We relaxed, undertook plenty of bush walking, climbed Mt William, Mt Zero, had picnic lunches in various parks & met other campers whilst relaxing in the caravan park.
On 30th October we set off for Port Melbourne to board The Spirit of Tasmania for an overnight cruise to Devonport. Once on board Alfie & Millie stayed in ou caravan rather than being locked up in wire cages, and were quite content to sleep on our soft bed during the crossing to Tassie.
The following morning at 5.30am we arrived in Devonport & disembarked to travel to our first stop in Bicheno a seaside town on the East Coast to meet my brother & his wife as we had planned to spend 4/5 days with them prior to their departure home to Perth. We had a safe journey to Bicheno & met our family who were travelling in a MotorHome around Tassie.
November 1st was a special day being Melbourne Cup Holiday & we all went to the Bicheno Tavern for a Melbourne Cup Luncheon dressed up in our "finery" including ladies head facinators & mens hats with suits.
